Live event or show
Description
We, the members of the Moles Creative Writing Group, extend to you a warm welcome to our October meeting.
We call ourselves ‘Moles’ not only because we meet in Mole Valley but also because we dig deep into our memories and imaginations to create stories, essays or memoirs, in prose or verse, each month on a set topic. These topics have included ‘The Escape’, ‘The Fork in the Road’, ‘Food and/or Drink’, ‘Mountain Rescue, ‘The house on the hill’, ‘A Momentous Meeting’, ‘A Tale Told by a Garden Implement or Domestic Appliance’ and many others.
In the first part of our monthly meetings we each share the pieces we have created. On 22nd October we should like to share with you some of the pieces we have written in the past twelve months.
After this, we break for tea, cakes and chat; we consider the latter important as, unlike our talpid namesakes, we are a sociable group. We exchange ideas and news, recalling memories and stimulating our imaginations. On the 22nd October we shall also have a break for refreshments, both savoury and sweet, and for tea or soft drinks and, importantly, for us and you, our guests, to chat together.
In the third part of our meetings we are set a task by the chairman (we take it in turns to chair meetings). We shall not expect this of our guests; but if any guest wishes to share something from their memories or imaginations, they will be very welcome to do so and we shall share with you some lighter pieces and/or give examples of chairman’s exercises. Above all we wish you to have an enjoyable experience.
We do hope you will come and meet us. You may find out more about us at http://www.themoles.epizy.com
