The Glasgow Boys by Ronnie Ireland: Art History Lectures (with a difference) – Leatherhead Community Association

Live event or show

Description

At the end of the 19th century Glasgow was prospering as a centre of heavy engineering, exporting high quality products around the world, there was an upsurge in creative energy. Influenced by access to international trends and spurred on by antagonism to what they saw as an oppressive Edinburgh based Scottish art establishment, The Glasgow Boys followed their own path, developing new techniques to serve their individual aims.
